Hello on this wet Thurday morning! I've just received this story and have been given permission to share on the blog...it's a story that I'm sure will bring encouragement...
"I would like to say that I was encouraged to come to Shire choir in April/May when i was deep in bereavement, having lost the most wonderful partner just before Christmas. I was widowed 12 years ago and met this gorgeous guy at church two years later. We had a wonderful ten years together and this second loss has been so hard to take – still is in many ways. But, I can truly say that I come home on a Wednesday evening and am able to say “I enjoyed that” and I haven’t enjoyed much since Christmas last year. So thank you. "
We love being part of GGCC!
Stay dry!

It's half term!
Well it's hard to believe we've had four weeks of the GGCC term already. This week we're having a bit of a break while the schools enjoy their half term hols.
All the concert dates have been finalised now...yay! First is Wednesday 7th Dec, 7.30pm @ St Edyth's Church, Sea Mills. Second is Sunday 11th Dec, 6.30pm @ St Mark's Baptist Church, Easton and third is Thursday 15th Dec, 7.30pm @ Cairns Road Baptist Church. We're looking forward to the challenge of fittting a choir numbering up to 140 into each of those spaces, and having room for audiences!!! We'll be sending posters for the concerts out soon...but you can start inviting your friends and family now! We have coaches booked to transport the Shirehampton gang to the Easton and Westbury Park concerts and are looking to book transport for the Easton guys/gals to get to Sea Mills and Westbury Park.
Our last couple of rehearsals have been fab...so impressed with how quickly everyone is picking up the songs and coping with slightly unsual lyrics like "behold he comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call"...where would we all be without Geraldine's top actions eh! Don't forget if you need words to any songs, drop Emma an email gospelgen@googlemail.com.
Well we're looking forward to the countdown to our concerts...each choir is having a social next half term too, it's a hard life having to eat some food together!
See you next week!

We have blog!
Well here it is, the official first GGCC blog. For those of you who have no idea who we are; we are the Gospel Generation Community Choir - GGCC for short. As the name suggests, we are a gospel choir, for all generations, a growing community within different communities in the wonderful city of Bristol.
We have three choirs, GGCC Easton, GGCC Shirehampton & GGCC Westbury Park. If you'd like any info on any of these choirs then email Emma gospelgen@googlemail.com .
We are now in week three of this term's rehearsals and we've already had so much fun!
The Westbury park gang have been enjoying the new carpet @ Cairns Road Baptist Church. The Easton gang have been crying out for "Help!" and the Shire gang have won the prize for sparkly eyes when singing!
What will happen next week?
